Nela Zisser with Flour and Dough — The Ultimate Baking Mix Review
I have been stalking Nela for months, in pure awe of what she eats, how fast she does it, and then still smiles when she's done. If you haven't heard of Nela Zisser, she's one of New Zealand's most well-known competitive eaters — famous for taking on enormous food challenges and absolutely demolishing them with a smile on her face.
As someone who pours their heart into every Flour and Dough baking mix, I knew I had to get our products in front of her. I just needed to build up the courage to ask.
The Collab That Almost Didn't Happen
I built up the courage and decided to ask Nela to showcase some of our Flour and Dough baking mixes. In hindsight, I should have asked her ages ago — not only was she friendly, but pretty awesome too! She was genuinely enthusiastic about the idea, which made the whole thing so much more exciting.
I was a bit sceptical about sending her our gluten free keto bread, so I decided to go with the products I knew would be crowd-pleasers: our Beer Bread Baking Mixes, Chewy Chocolate Brownie Baking Mix, and Fudgy White Chocolate Blondie Baking Mix. These are three of our most popular NZ-made baking mixes, and I was quietly confident they'd hold up to the Nela Zisser treatment.
We sorted a date, planned a little giveaway for her followers, and off I went to bake.
What Happened Next
Never — not once — did I think she would eat ALL the bread. But she did.
Two full loaves of beer bread, completely demolished. Then nearly all of the chocolate brownies and blondies too. Watching it happen in real time was equal parts hilarious and deeply satisfying. There is nothing quite like seeing someone genuinely enjoy something you've made from scratch.
The Beer Bread Baking Mixes were a particular hit — warm, crusty, and ready in under 30 minutes, they're the kind of bake that looks and tastes impressive without requiring any baking experience.
